Customer Challenges

Companies spend a significant amount of their resources trying to increase the availability of applications to users. Today, deploying different application types and delivery platforms, IT departments are forced to use a variety of systems and tools to provide users with connectivity to applications. Such connectivity is provided through methods such as shortcuts, executables, links and Start Menu items. This combination of items assigned to a user or to a group constitutes their connectivity profile. Currently, the methods used to create, change and deliver connectivity profiles results in high costs, long time-to-change and reduced productivity. The challenges to the IT department include:

  • How to create a single connectivity profile that contains applications of all types and delivery platforms?

  • How to deliver users their connectivity profile anywhere, anytime?

  • How to simplify and centralize the complex and inefficient process of delivering user connectivity

  • How to change connectivity profiles in real-time to increase users’ productivity

  • How to provide user access to applications in a manner that is simple and consistent, yet fully controlled by IT

  • How to enable user mobility and remote access that are simple to use and require no effort on the part of IT

  • How to take advantage of new technologies such as VDI and virtual applications without increasing overhead management costs
